Pure adrenaline on Lake Garda: Stefano Goria (ITA) and Anna Weinbeer (SUI) win the UCI Bike Marathon in Riva

Riva del Garda, 2 May 2026. After yesterday’s opening day, which saw almost 20,000 visitors, today’s focus was on the sporting highlight of the Bike Festival – the UCI Bike Marathon. Top international athletes battled it out early this morning on the Ronda Extrema for valuable world ranking points. The legendary route around Riva demanded everything of them over 80 kilometres and nearly 3,500 metres of elevation gain. Meanwhile, hundreds of amateur cyclists set off on the shorter routes as the festival grounds buzzed with race-day atmosphere.

High tension at the Ronda Extrema

The flagship event of the FSA Bike Festival once again delivered at its very best in 2026, as international pro riders competed at the highest level in perfect conditions in the Ronda Extrema’s UCI C1 race. Anna Weinbeer and Stefano Goria took the win. “It’s a special race – winning in front of all these people is an incredible feeling,” said Goria right after crossing the finish line. In the men’s category, second place went to Dutch rider Tim Smeenge, with Davide Foccoli taking third place.

Weinbeer celebrated a successful debut: “It was my first time on the Extrema and I’m happy. I really like it here and will definitely be back next year.” Luisa Daubermann from Germany crossed the finish line a few minutes later, with third place going to last year’s winner Claudia Peretti.

Positions were also hotly contested on the Ronda Grande, while the Ronda Piccola gave participants a real sense of racing.

Riva in cycling spirit

Beyond the race tracks, the festival impressed with its diversity – from the SICK! Freestyle Show wowing crowds with action, tricks and interactive moments, to the new Warm-up Party by FENZ at Spiaggia degli Olivi.

Mountain bike legend Gee Atherton praised the unique atmosphere: “What the riders achieve is impressive. I don’t think I’d survive it.“ he said. "The whole Bike Festival is special. The location, the brands, the people from all over the world – it’s a joy to be here.”

A high-energy close to the festival day

The second day wraps up just as it started – with plenty of energy. In the evening, Open Night takes over the Expo Area, followed by the legendary Bike Festival Party. Tomorrow, Sunday, the action continues with the next sporting highlight, the MAXXIS Gravel Garda Trentino, while younger riders put their skills to the test at the SCOTT Junior Trophy.
